No application to us. An independent assessment.

We don't take applications and we charge nothing to join. A seat is earned when the independent Certification Center examines your documented contribution to the field and confirms it. Here's exactly how it works.

Why we don't assess candidates ourselves.

Two reasons. First, impartiality — if members judged the people applying to join their own field, admission would turn into politics. Keeping assessment outside the association removes that conflict of interest.

Second, we simply have no apparatus for it: no dues, no staff, no paid assessors. So assessment is handled by an independent Certification Center whose only job is to examine evidence — consistently, across every field.

01
Apply to the Certification Center
You submit your evidence to the independent Certification Center — not to us. Projects, results, recognition — the record your field already knows you by.
02
It issues your Certificate of Contribution
A council of recognised experts at the Center weighs your evidence against the ten criteria. If at least four are confirmed, the Center issues a Certificate of Contribution in your name.
03
Your seat opens the same day
The Center notifies us, and we recognise the certificate automatically. Your place in the community — and a post-nominal anyone can verify — is ready that day. We never re-examine what the Center confirmed.
Apply at the Certification Center The Center is an independent body. It runs the assessment and sets its own fee.

The ten criteria.

The Center reads your evidence against the same ten criteria used across every GAPOA community. At least four must be confirmed.

Good to know.

No fee to the association
Membership is guaranteed free through 2029. Dues may be introduced after that. The Certification Center sets its own assessment fee.
No interview
Assessment reads your documented record, not a conversation.
No expiry
Your seat stands for as long as the certificate stands.
No second review
The community does not re-verify what the Center has already confirmed.
No community yet?

A small group of confirmed members can start one.

If your field has no community yet, get your Certificate of Contribution first, then gather founders. A small group of confirmed members can petition the umbrella to open a community, draft its bylaws, and elect its first organisers.
